JONES GALLERY OF GLASS AND CERAMICS
A Collaboration with the Jones Gallery of Glass and Ceramics
Nilsson + Siden Associates, Inc. was delighted to partner with the esteemed Jones Gallery of Glass and Ceramics in Sebago, Maine, just northwest of Portland. This museum is dedicated to the exhibition, study, and preservation of man’s glass and ceramic heritage. Our collaboration centered around expanding and redesigning their display spaces and lecture/seminar rooms, breathing new life into this remarkable institution.
Revitalizing the Space
With our work, we transformed the Jones Gallery of Glass and Ceramics into a vibrant and dynamic hub for enthusiasts and scholars alike. The formerly restricted second-floor space of the wood-framed former barn structure has been remodeled, introducing three captivating exhibit rooms, a museum library, and a museum gift shop on the first floor. We created an inviting atmosphere that captivates guests while enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Unleashing Creativity
Our innovative approach unlocked the potential of the Jones Gallery of Glass and Ceramics. With meticulous attention to detail, we expanded the exhibit spaces, allowing for a broader range of captivating displays. From elegant wall-mounted cases to eye-catching free-standing pedestals, we orchestrated a variety of display environments that showcase the incredible artistry of glass and ceramic artifacts.
Preserving Heritage
Throughout our collaboration, the preservation of man’s glass and ceramic heritage was at the forefront of our minds. We carefully integrated state-of-the-art preservation techniques and technologies into the design, ensuring that the museum’s priceless collection remains safeguarded for future generations.
